## Fast direction control for orienteering
Arc Jet S is a thumb compass developed for running orienteering, where quick direction checks, precision and stable handling are important. It is designed for use during both training and competition and is available in separate right- and left-hand versions.
Spectra speed dial graphics on the capsule use numbers and reference markings to help you memorise and maintain the correct direction while moving at high pace.
## Stable navigation while running
The Silva Jet 2.0 needle is designed for fast settling and stable direction control while you are moving.
The Arc wing design provides additional support against the hand. A cut-out section in the baseplate allows direct thumb contact with the map, helping you maintain control during rapid direction changes.
A friction element helps keep the map stable while running.
## Adjustable thumb grip
The detachable thumb plate slides on and off the baseplate, allowing you to choose between direct thumb contact with the map and a more traditional thumb grip.
Two thumb bands are included: one soft and one firm. Both are rubberised on the inside to provide friction and can be adjusted to suit your preferred grip.
## Map scales and compatible magnifier
The compass supports attachable map scales for 1:15,000, 1:10,000, 1:7,500 and 1:4,000 maps.
It is also compatible with the optional Arc Zoom magnifier, which attaches to the baseplate for more detailed map reading. The magnifier is sold separately.
