Product Description
The BATWING cantilever awning from OFFLANDER provides effective protection against adverse weather conditions, such as rain or intense sunlight. It will also help you organize the space around your vehicle, especially on hot or rainy days. Durable 420D Oxford fabric with a 2000-3000 mm water resistance offers excellent durability and weather protection, while remaining lightweight and easy to use. Oxford fabrics are easy to clean and dry quickly. The awning's robust structure is made of lightweight, powder-coated aluminum profiles, ensuring durability and ease of use for years to come. The BATWING boasts a 270-degree sweep around the vehicle, providing coverage on one of the longer sides of the vehicle and, more importantly, the rear. This is where you typically access the trunk or kitchen area. The BATWING is a cantilever awning, meaning it can function as a freestanding structure without supports. However, in cases of strong winds or rain, it should be stabilized with the included four adjustable poles. This will definitely be necessary during rain, to reduce the load on the awning sash and properly drain water between the awning arms. The poles are permanently attached to the arms. This means they are always in place, and in the event of a sudden downpour, you don't have to search for them to support the awning. The awning folds and stores away in an extended cover made of durable PVC, which not only protects the canopy from damage and dirt but also makes it easy to fold and store the fabric inside the cover. We've provided additional space inside the cover for poles and smaller tarps or the OFFLANDER UNIWALL wall. Everything will fit easily inside the cover. The looser PVC material is quiet during travel and certainly makes packing easier. The awning arms are equipped with two recessed LED strips. Powered by a USB socket or a 12V cigarette lighter, they have a built-in mode switch. You can choose from three light modes: white, amber, and mixed. This solution provides adequate lighting for the usable space and, more importantly, reduces the number of insects attracted to white light by using orange light. This ability to change the light color to orange is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical, minimizing the risk of attracting mosquitoes or attention during incognito camps, which is especially useful during evening camps. Folding and unfolding the BATWING is simple and intuitive. Open the cover, extend the awning wing, secure it, and you're done! The awning can be mounted to the roof crossbars or roof platform on the driver's or passenger's side, depending on the model (LEFT/RIGHT). The kit includes appropriate mounting brackets for mounting to flat surfaces such as roof platforms or wider roof rails. The mount should be securely attached to the vehicle to avoid damage during transport. Folding the side canopy requires little effort, making the BATWING an ideal choice for trips and outdoor activities. OFFLANDER TIP: The awning is a bit like an umbrella. If you have one, it might bother you, but if you don't and it starts raining, it's a nightmare. That's the thing about an awning; it's often left unopened on our long or short trips. But when the weather turns bad, we're happy to have it. It saves our [and others'] sips on camping trips. Yes, an awning adds extra weight to the roof. But it's a matter of getting used to it, especially on overlanding or hiking trips. We never go anywhere without it. The name is a combination of two concepts that are close to our hearts: offroading and overlanding. OFFROAD is freedom and independence, overcoming obstacles, sometimes without a plan, or sleeping under the stars. OVERLANDING, on the other hand, is about more planned travel, with family and friends, camping, and traveling on gravel roads without overcoming more difficult obstacles. The new name is intended to reflect our travel style and the new p
