Women's Golf Skirts

Why can built-in shorts make a golf skort practical?

Integrated shorts add coverage beneath the outer skirt without requiring a separate base garment. This can feel more secure when bending to collect a ball, stepping into a bunker or rotating through a full swing. Made with the same 81% polyester and 19% elastane jersey across both layers, women's golf skorts combine stretch with perspiration transfer for warm rounds. A high fitted waistband helps the garment remain in position, while four pockets provide space for small items such as tees or a ball marker. Avoid overfilling the pockets because bulky contents can distort the skirt and become distracting during movement.

Does the fit of a girls' golf skirt differ from that of a women's style?

Yes, because junior and adult garments may use different waist proportions, hip shaping and lengths. An older or taller junior might fit a small adult size, but this needs confirming through measurements and movement rather than age alone. Age-based alternatives among girls' golf skirts may provide proportions that suit a younger golfer more naturally. Compare the stated waist and hip measurements with a garment that already fits comfortably. During fitting, check whether the waistband stays secure, the inner layer remains in place and the hem provides suitable coverage. Adult skort specifications must not be assumed to apply automatically to junior clothing.

What makes women's golf skirts comfortable during play?

Women's golf skirts need a secure waistband, enough room around the hips and a length that remains comfortable while walking, bending and completing a full swing. Skort constructions can add fitted inner shorts beneath the outer skirt, providing extra coverage without changing the skirted appearance. Golfers who prefer separate legs can consider alternatives from the golf shorts category, but a skirt or skort may offer the preferred fit and silhouette for practice or a full round. Test the garment with a polo and golf shoes, then practise driving, putting and crouching to collect a ball. Focus on waistband movement, inner-short comfort and pocket access. As women's golf skirts are not automatically waterproof, separate rain overtrousers may be useful during prolonged wet weather.

Which care habits help a women's golf skirt last longer?

Empty every pocket before washing so tees, keys or repair tools cannot catch the jersey fabric. Turn the skort inside out and wash it at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius with similar colours. Liquid detergent can reduce visible residue on darker garments, while a spin speed around 800 to 900 rpm limits unnecessary fibre stress. Air-dry the skort because tumble drying is excluded. Use only a low-temperature iron without steam when necessary, following the exact care label for the colour purchased. Once fully dry, store it with other golf apparel rather than leaving it compressed inside a golf bag, where moisture and deep creasing may affect the waistband and inner shorts.
