How to Participate in the Bike Buy Back Event
Participating in our bike recycling program is simple. Here's what you need to know:
• Event Duration: The event runs from May 6th to 18th.
• Weekend Event Dates: Bring your bike in on these specific dates: May 9th-11th and May 16th-18th.
• Times: We'll be accepting bikes between 10 am and 7 pm on event days.
• Participating Locations: Visit us at our Ballymun, Limerick, or O'Connell Street stores.
• What Happens: Our expert team will assess your bike. If it meets our criteria, you'll receive a digital voucher to spend in-store. These vouchers are valid for a generous 5 years!
What Kind of Bikes Does Decathlon Ireland Accept?
To ensure the success of our used bike buy back event at Decathlon Ireland and to provide clarity for our customers, we have specific guidelines for the bikes we can accept.
• Condition: Bikes should be clean and in good working order.
• Maintenance: We're looking for bikes that are well-maintained and ready for a new owner.
• Material: Generally, we accept standard bicycles. However, bikes with significant carbon fibre components may be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and acceptance is not guaranteed.
• Electric Bikes: Due to specific safety and resale considerations, we are only accepting Decathlon branded electric bikes (e-bikes), therefore other brands are not eligible for our Buy Back Event at this time.
• Assessment: Our team at Decathlon Ireland will conduct a thorough diagnosis to determine if your bike is eligible.
While we aim to accept as many bikes as possible, those with significant damage or requiring extensive repairs may not qualify. We also want to be upfront that we cannot accept all types of bikes.
