Yes! The sock is waterproof, but if you pull your socks over the top of your cycling tights, water can soak in through capillary action.
If you ride for a long time in driving rain, water can also find its way between your skin and the sock.
So rather than aiming for total watertightness, it's more a case of stopping you getting cold. Because there's nothing worse than a wet sock in winter!

CAN YOU WEAR THESE SOCKS WITH OVERSHOES?
Yes, but remember to let your feet breathe. Most neoprene overshoes aren't breathable. If it's too warm, moisture can't evaporate from your foot. This combination only works in cold weather with well-ventilated shoes.
