The Maxxis Dissector (2025) returns with major improvements for better control, cornering, and braking. The side knobs have been redesigned to offer a wider footprint, improving grip and stability, especially on hardpack. The center tread retains the fast 2-3-2 configuration but now features split center knobs for improved braking and terrain compliance. The transition knobs are pushed outwards for smoother cornering. It's perfect as a front tire on 130-140mm travel trail bikes or as a fast rear tire on 150mm+ travel setups in dry conditions. It pairs ideally with the Forekaster or Rekon for a balanced ride. 1. 3C MAXX GRIP Compound The 3C MaxxGrip compound is Maxxis' softest compound, prioritizing pure grip and traction in all conditions. This triple compound offers the best cushioning and grip for flawless control on downhill and technical enduro sections. Note: This compound prioritizes grip at the expense of durability and rolling resistance. 2. Double Down (DD) Protection Double Down (DD) technology uses a reinforced double-ply 120 TPI casing. It offers protection and lateral stability nearly equivalent to a classic DH casing, but with a significant weight saving. It's the essential solution for hard-hitting riders who demand maximum puncture and pinch flat resistance. 3. Tubeless Ready (TR) and Wide Trail (WT) This tire is Tubeless Ready (TR) for tubeless mounting, allowing for lower pressures, increased grip, and a reduced risk of punctures. The Wide Trail (WT) design ensures the tire profile is perfectly optimized for use with modern wide rims (30-35 mm), maximizing performance and stability.
