Traditionally, saddlebags were simple open spaces that allowed the contents to clatter, make noise and rub against each other. Often, a replacement inner tube would be removed from a saddlebag and revealed to be more full of holes than the replaced tube due to rubbing against a house wrench or multi-tool. With Mattone, we designed a small pocket to keep multi-tools and inner tubes separate from each other. The unique off-center Aquaguard zipper allows the pannier to open fully and lie flat when not on the bike, while allowing easy access to the multi-tool and money/card slots when on the bike without the risk of spilling the entire contents of the bag. A high-friction Hypalon strap with BOA® closure completes the package. More than 15 times as powerful as Velcro® , the BOA® closure uses a ratchet mechanism that won't slip or loosen even under the most extreme vibrations and impacts.
