Due to the special grooved shape of the barbell, it can be gripped very well during exercises such as the biceps curl, triceps extension, preacher curl, and so on. The great advantage is that the tension on the forearms is reduced by the specific shape of the barbell. This greatly lowers the risk of annoying (overuse) injuries in the forearms compared to doing these exercises with a "normal" straight bar. These barbells last longest if they are not thrown around.
