If you look closely, you'll see that the Perfetto RoS 2 jacket is actually a long-sleeved version of the Gabba RoS 2. So is it just a warmer version of the Gabba model? Not really. Its long sleeves make it a jacket, but suitable for a wide range of conditions. As with the Gabba model, the RoS badge means it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability, but also when it's wet thanks to Castelli's exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric. The inner surfaces feature a lightweight waterproof fabric lined with fleece, while the back is made of a lighter, more elastic fabric that optimizes breathability while ensuring excellent water-repellent properties. The Perfetto RoS 2 jacket keeps you protected from the wind while being far more breathable than the polyurethane membranes typically used on most jackets that try to compete with it. When you're staying drier, you don't need to wear many layers underneath. The beauty of this jacket is that it has no insulation of its own, so a thin base layer will be perfect for mild temperatures, while by adding an insulating layer (a thermal jersey or Castelli's Alpha second layer) you'll be able to cope with low temperatures. The choice is yours. The "2" in the name refers to upgrades that have been made to the latest version, including a YKK® Vislon® zipper that opens from the top and bottom, for more easily adjustable ventilation. The reflective part in the back is more visible, the seam at the top of the shoulders has been moved to the back, and the three pockets can accommodate more stuff. While the Perfetto model remains a resolutely performance-oriented item, the new version offers a little more room in the chest, shoulders and biceps.
