Modular Design
The Sum'Tec ice axe offers advanced modularity: blade, pick, and hammer are interchangeable (only one of the two provided) and the axe is compatible with Petzl QUARK, NOMIC, and ERGO accessories. This design allows adaptation of the tool to various climbing objectives, from technical mountaineering to glacier hiking.
ICE Blade and Ice Performance
The ICE blade is tapered towards the tip to ensure easy penetration into ice, providing effective anchoring in ice cascades or mixed terrain. Its steel head ensures robustness and durability during demanding uses.
Ergonomic Handle and Cane Functionality
The 55 cm curved handle protects the hand during anchoring while remaining straight enough for walking. The steel tip at the end of the handle provides a reliable support point when the axe is used in cane mode.
Accessories and Adjustment Options
The Sum'Tec allows the addition of weights (not provided) to improve anchoring quality and enables tip replacement according to activity (PUR'ICE, DRY, etc.). The TRIGREST hand rest adjusts quickly without tools to optimize grip.
