The jacket's hybrid construction combines Airlite Windproof material with insulation on the inside and AFT Double Weave Pro. Airlite Windproof is lightweight, windproof and breathable material and is insulated with Polartec Alpha in key areas on the inside of the jacket. Polartec Alpha is a specially developed material (originally developed for U.S. Special Forces) intended for highly aerobic activities, with the hydrophobic fibres that resist moisture and dry quickly. In addition, the fibres have a high loft and create a very soft and warm fleece-like texture. Alpha provides the so-called active thermal insulation which retains heat very well and wicks moisture away quickly. making it ideal for products designed for intense physical activities such as skitouring, cross-country skiing or fast climbs. The jacket's perfect technical cut and flexible wind-resistant panels made of AFT Double Weave Pro allow for unrestricted movement. The outer material is treated with an reusable water-repellent PFC FREE finish which prevents the fabric from absorbing water and the insulation from blow-impactming damp. The renowned YKK Vislon Slim main zipper is a plastic moulded zip with narrower teeth, allowing it to be almost "folded," providing the advantage of greater and easier packability without the risk of zip damage. The hood is designed to fit under a helmet, and the high-placed main pockets are easily accessible even when using a hip belt or a sit harness.
