The practical, foot-hugging sock-like construction, made from perforated Airprene fabric, offers greater comfort than a traditional tongue-based design because there are fewer layers of material, resulting in a fit without pressure points. To improve traction on foot during bike-to-foot transitions, we drew inspiration from other outdoor disciplines to develop a more aggressive lug pattern under the heel and toes—areas where the outsole does not interact with the pedal. There, the lugs are taller and more widely spaced to better grip the ground.
