Design details

Fleece component: Insulate with air

The fleece component keeps the air inside thanks to the volume created by its texture; this air keeps the body warm with its natural insulating properties. It is the abrasive nature of the knit that helps keep the air in.

Component test:

Abrasion and friction resistance test: for example, we check that fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in the laboratory. Colour retention test: colour fastness is verified to make sure the colours cannot bleed. Ageing test: repeated washing must not affect the properties of the fabric, its behaviour, thickness or appearance.

We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: - we test our fleeces' material. - or on a thermal model in a thermal room. We reproduce the conditions of temperature, wind (5km / h) and humidity that you encounter on mountains when walking at 5km / h. These tests allow us to validate our design choices and also adapt the thermal insulation where you need it most.
