The story behind the Impact 500 V2
For this new version of the Impact 8-stud boots, we wanted to place you at the heart of the development process by asking all about your footwear habits during training sessions and matches. We've also consulted our panel of pro players to understand and analyse the specific constraints linked to this type of boot. This version improves on the previous model as it is lighter and more flexible.
So what's changed?
This pair has been improved with three major modifications:
1. Less foam on the forefoot, making the upper less rigid and improving flexibility so that you're more comfortable and able to move freely.
2. Redesigned structure, making the boot lighter while retaining its strength.
3. Revamped design for a more modern, dynamic look.
It's a boot designed with the pros.
These boots have been put through their paces for 4 months by our players from OMR (French 4th division club), in particular during long scrum training sessions and intensive phases of match play.
They are also the boots of choice for our pros playing in the Top 14 and Pro D2 leagues, confirming their ability to reliably perform at the very highest level.
This pair is specially designed for pushing phases.
With their 8 aluminium studs, these boots do exactly what forwards need them to do, whether driving forward in the scrum, running, getting back up after a tackle, or doing the whole thing all over again. They also meet players' expectations in terms of lightness and mobility to help with playing on muddy pitches.
The 6 studs in the forefoot have been strategically positioned to optimise angled push-offs, giving you better stability and increased efficiency during scrums.
Versatility - compatibility
You can switch which studs you use based on the type of pitch. For very muddy pitches, use 18 to 21 mm studs. The drier the pitch, the smaller they can be. This pair comes with 15 mm studs at the toe and 18 mm at the heel for versatility. For optimal performance, you'll need different sized studs depending on your position, style of play and match conditions.
