Bag dimensions and volume
46.5 cm high
31 cm wide
19.5 cm total depth
Volume: 20 L
Waist circumference up to 150 cm with shoulder straps on sides
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we then empty the balls into a graduated container which then displays the equivalent volume in litres. We then empty the balls into a graduated container, which gives us the equivalent volume in litres, with a tolerance of a few percents.
The idea behind the creation of this backpack
When you’re out on an approach, there are certain phases when you need to secure your weapon. This is particularly true when you walk a long way to get to the hunting area: securing your rifle (or bow) so that it doesn’t slip off your shoulder is essential. However, in other situations, you need to be able to access the weapon quickly when a game animal comes out. With this in mind, we designed a system for securing and attaching the weapon in 3 configurations.
Option 1 for securing your weapon
Fully secure configuration:
-the rifle stock is held in a pouch suspended from the side of the backpack
-the rifle sling is itself secured by a buckle coming over the sling
-a final strap comes around and makes a compression point against the backpack
This is the complete system with 3 attachment points: one on the strap of the weapon, one against the bag, and one with the pouch. The rifle won’t move!
Option 2 for securing your weapon
Hybrid configuration:
-this is the version where the strap on the side of the bag is not put on. In this case, the weapon is secured at 2 points rather than 3: one on the sling of the weapon, and one with the pouch. This solution allows the weapon to be discharged more quickly than configuration no. 1. But it’s still a slightly less balanced system because, when walking, the rifle’s movements can be felt. However, there is no risk of the weapon falling out.
Option 3 for securing your weapon
Minimalist configuration:
-this is the version where the strap on the side of the bag is not put on and the pouch is not
used. In this case, there is just one point of attachment with the weapon’s sling. This is an even less stable solution than option 2 because the bottom of the rifle moves (it’s not caught in the pouch). But if game comes out, this is the quickest way to be ready to shoot, and it prevents the sling from slipping.
Notes on these 3 configurations
By giving you these 3 options for securing your rifle, you choose the best compromise between weapon retention and speed of action.
Please note: the pouch that holds the gun’s butt is attached to the underside of the bag using small loops. And because we’ve thought of everything, it can be placed on the left or right: whether you’re left- or right-handed, you’ll benefit from the best possible configuration.
Laboratory tests: the data
This bag has been tested on several major strengths:
-handle tensile strength test: 80 kg
-strap tensile strength test: >80 kg
-tensile strength test of MOLLE loops (in black hypalon): 25 kg
It has also undergone the “jerk” test. This causes 35,000 shaking cycles on the shoulder straps and handle. Result: at the end of the cycles, and with a bag loaded to 9.2 kg, these elements are still functional.
The different pockets and volumes of this model (part 1/2)
On the compartment side, there are:
>a central volume with, inside:
-1 small zipped pocket at the top for your keys or documents
-1 elasticated pocket with the option of including a water pouch (not included)
This central volume is designed so that you can carry your essential equipment: clothing, knives, game processing equipment, bracelets, etc.
The different pockets and volumes of this model (part 2/2)
>2 elasticated side pockets (where you can put a pair of gloves, a neck warmer, a hat or any other small item of equipment that may no longer be useful when you’ve warmed up by walking when it was cold when you set off, and vice versa). These are quick-access, open pockets.
>2 ventral pockets on lumbar belt: for your ammunition, headlamp, etc.
Other features worth noting
Because discretion is essential when stalking, the bag is made from silent components (the same components used in our treemetic textile kits): references 8668330, 8734457 or 8754023 for example).
Also, the bottom of the outer bag is water-repellent: when you put the bag on the ground, it may be damp (there may be dew or a little earth); to avoid soaking all the equipment inside the bag.
A few words about Treemetic camouflage
Our TREEMETIC pattern allows you to camouflage yourself even more effectively. It is designed to adapt to as many biotopes and seasons as possible. To break up the human silhouette and blend in with any environment, it features in particular:
-high contrasts between light colours and darker parts (both in the foreground and the background)
-3D effects and geometric shapes
-realistic plant motifs (branches)
How to adjust your STALK 20L backpack
Once the bag is on your back, fasten and tighten the sternum strap: it is elasticated and height-adjustable (thanks to various MOLLE loops) to fit your chest size. This also prevents the shoulder straps from falling to the sides when the bag is fully loaded.
The bag also offers a lumbar belt system: you have 2 straps on the sides that you can adjust and tighten so that the weight of the backpack rests on your hips too.
The little bonus
You have the option of fitting a warning light on the left or right sling (or both). On the black hypalon area. For example, you can choose to use a lamp with a red diode to signal you discreetly, or a lamp with a white diode to light you up and make it easier to see what you’re doing in the dark.
Can it be carried in the cabin?
Each airline sets its own regulations on the size and weight of baggage allowed. Most airlines consider this bag to be cabin baggage. Nevertheless, we encourage you to read their rules carefully before travelling to find out whether it will be defined as hand luggage or hold luggage.
