How to use this product
Place the chain wear gauge in the chain, stretch the chain as shown on the tool, and check its condition accurately in a matter of seconds.
How do you interpret the result?
If the tip of the tool (left) does not sink in, then your chain and cassette are in perfect condition for riding.
If you press down on the left tip of the tool, then you need to change your chain and cassette.
Compatibility:
The SRAM chain wear indicator tool is compatible with all existing SRAM chain models, including HARD CHROME and non-HARD CHROME chains, with a critical wear specification of 0.8%.
How often should you use the tool?
Depending on how often you ride, it is advisable to check the condition of your chain once a month. This will ensure smooth gear changes and limit premature wear on the cassette or freewheel.
As wear can vary depending on the area, take several measurements on different sections of the chain. However, avoid the section with the quick release, as this could distort the result.
