Product Description
When preparing for a long trek or a backpacking adventure, every gram counts and organization is key to success. The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag 3L is designed to bring order to the chaos of a packed rucksack. This compact size is ideal for safely storing essential smaller items like electronics, a first aid kit, snacks, or a set of dry underwear. Whether you are hiking through an unexpected rain shower or simply want to organize your gear efficiently, this storage sack ensures your equipment stays protected from moisture and dirt without adding unnecessary weight to your load.
The ease of use of this dry bag becomes immediately apparent when packing and unpacking. Thanks to the slippery finish of the fabric, the bag slides effortlessly into the tightest corners of your backpack or pannier, even when space is limited. Another smart detail is the semi-transparent fabric; you can see what is inside at a glance without having to open the bag. This saves time and hassle when you need something quickly on the trail. Furthermore, the bright orange color ensures you never lose sight of your gear, even in low light conditions inside a tent.
Technically, the Ultra-Sil Dry Bag is a masterpiece of material engineering. The bag is made from 30D siliconized Cordura® nylon. This material is renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio: it is incredibly thin and light, yet surprisingly durable. The fabric features a 2,000 mm waterhead, which, combined with fully taped seams and a PFC-free DWR finish, provides reliable waterproof protection against rain and splashes. Note that these bags are intended for use inside another pack and not for prolonged submersion.
The finishing touches are equally focused on functionality. The closure consists of a non-wicking Hypalon roll-top strip that ensures a tight seal. The base of the bag is oval rather than round. This might seem like a small detail, but it prevents the bag from rolling away when placed on a sloped surface and ensures more efficient space utilization within your backpack. Weighing just 30 grams, this is an indispensable addition to the gear list of any lightweight traveler.
