Following in the footsteps of the venerable Ksyrium Elite and Ksyrium Pro, the brand new Ksyrium SL Disc lives up to this standard. If you’re looking for a pair of aluminium wheels for weekend racing and training miles, wherever the road takes you, this is your best choice.
This new wheel is super light (120 g less than the old Ksyrium Elite UST Disc) and more durable than ever thanks to our patented ISM4D technology. This manufacturing process removes excess material between each spoke hole while keeping the rim wall thick enough where the tension and stress of the spokes are highest. These rims are made in France, at our aluminium rim factory. The double-butted spokes help reduce weight while making the wheel more responsive. These spokes also have a patented elliptical shape that saves 5 watts for greater efficiency.
Stiffness is optimised through Fore technology. The upper bridge is not drilled, so it stays solid and rigid, eliminating the need for a rim tape (another 30 g savings per wheel). The new shape of the rim bed makes installing and removing tyres easier than ever, and our UST Tubeless technology improves rolling resistance and grip while reducing the risk of punctures. Our new Infinity hub platform optimises stiffness and power transfer with highly controlled spoke tension, while an Instant Drive 360 freehub paired with our automatic bearing preload adjustment (QRM Auto) provides quick engagement and great longevity. Specifically designed for disc brakes, the wheels are compatible with a 12x100 axle at the front and 12x142 at the rear and can be converted to Quick Release with adapters. For Center Lock discs only. They are available for Shimano or Sram XD-Road cassettes and can be converted for Campagnolo with an optional freehub body.
