Developed in partnership with professional riders seeking a competitive edge in the World Cup or the Olympic Games, it features a full carbon rim of 29'', allowing for quick accelerations and climbs, without compromising on stiffness and durability.
The special Adaptive Lay Up technique allows us to create carbon rims using less material between the spokes. The spoke holes are reinforced with strategically positioned layers of carbon, which helps to reduce weight without compromising on stiffness and strength. A lighter rim means quicker accelerations, more efficient climbs, and better responsiveness. The outer carbon layer benefits from our new UD² design, which gives it a distinctive visual identity and enhances its durability.
Extensive field testing with our pro athletes has helped us identify the most suitable internal width for fast and precise handling and optimal grip on fast race tracks: 25 mm. For more technical terrain, some prefer a width of 30 mm, which offers better maneuverability. We therefore offer both options. It's up to you to choose, and if you wish, to combine both! For instance, fit a Crossmax Ultimate 25 at the back to improve your accelerations and efficiency, and a Crossmax Ultimate 30 at the front for more confidence and control on challenging singletracks.
The carbon rim is equipped with 24 straight pull spokes (same length throughout), crossed two at a time for optimal power transfer and better vertical compliance. The new, lighter Infinity hub platform helps optimize lateral stiffness, and the spoke lacing maximizes power transfer. Our Instant Drive 360 freehub ensures fast engagement with its dual pawl system, allowing for more efficient acceleration out of corners. The rear hub is compatible with HG9, Micro Spline, and SRAM XD freehub bodies.
The Crossmax SL Ultimate 25 is available in 29'' only, with either 6-hole or Center Lock brake discs, and is compatible with a front axle of 15 x 110 and a rear axle of 12 x 148. It comes with valves, spare spokes, and a MTB wheel cover.
