But before diving into your workout, a good night’s sleep is essential. That’s where the Polar Ignite 3 comes in. It tracks your sleep, heart rate, and activities to help you better understand your body. Every person is different, but we only have 24 hours a day to move and improve. So follow your watch and live in harmony with yourself by finding your rhythm. In fact, when you wake up, your watch tells you how well your body has recovered. This is the Nightly Recharge feature. It also helps you make the right choices every day to stay in shape and reach your goals.
This feature has two components: the quality of your sleep (also called Sleep Status) and how your nervous system calms down over the night, known as the SNA Status. Additionally, Sleep Plus Stages shows you how much time you spend in each sleep stage (light, deep, and REM).
Now that you are fully rested, it’s time to start your training—or you might prefer to begin with a fitness, running, or walking test. The fitness test is simple and shows your VO2 Max (maximum oxygen consumption), which is an important indicator of your aerobic capacity. In short, the higher your VO2 Max, the stronger your heart. This test lasts only 5 minutes and is performed lying down without any extra equipment. It takes into account several factors, such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and personal data like sex, age, and height.
The walking test is even simpler. Just walk at a steady pace for 15 minutes on flat terrain. The calculation then considers the distance covered, your heart rate during the exercise, and your personal data.
The running test helps you maintain the right pace during workouts. It tracks your progress and allows you to personalize your power, speed, and heart rate zones.
Once your session is over, it’s time to relax and recharge. The Serene feature guides you through breathing exercises to manage stress, boost resilience, and improve focus. This function helps you find the perfect balance between heart rate and breathing rhythm.
The Polar Ignite 3 is all about rhythm. It features an ultra-fast processor and extended battery life so you can move longer and farther toward your goals. It also has a new optical lens that measures heart rate at the wrist more accurately than ever—10 LEDs with wavelengths for better light penetration and 4 photodetectors to capture light reflected by your blood vessels. Hard to beat.
Battery life: up to 100 hours of training in power-saving mode, 30 hours with GPS and heart rate active, and up to 5 days in watch mode.
The GPS is also highly accurate thanks to satellite navigation. You also get a return-to-start function.
For running, the Ignite 3 offers training programs directly on your device, from 5K to marathon distances, with periodized plans to prepare you for your goals. Swimming is also covered, with precise and comprehensive data to analyze your sessions, both in the pool and in open water.
