This construction method is derived from the expertise gained by La Sportiva in climbing shoes. There is also a rubber protection at the toe, also derived from climbing shoes. The 'Rock Guard' midsole contains an EVA layer with an injected shock-absorbing pad at the heel, providing increased ankle support to prevent foot twists. The Vibram Idrogrip sole has been designed according to specific features and is cut into different zones: climbing zone at the front, suction cup lugs of different sizes on the sides, and a shock-absorbing cushion at the heel.
