The skandika Spirit sun canopy is now available in an extended version – offering full roof coverage for almost any tunnel or family tent. This extra-long Spirit canopy stretches over the entire tent roof like a protective second skin. It keeps the inside of the tent noticeably cooler and shields the outer fabric from UV rays, rain and falling debris – ideal for pitches under trees. Compared with many shorter canopies, Spirit helps your tent last longer and stay cleaner and better protected over time.
Huge sun canopy
This extended version of the Spirit canopy is designed to work with most standard tunnel and family tents. Used as a generous porch or awning, it’s the perfect add-on for relaxed camping holidays or your next music festival, giving you a large, shaded living space in front of the tent.
Easy set-up
Set-up is quick and tool-free. The rear section is simply laid over the tent roof and tensioned with guylines, while the two included telescopic poles support the front edge. In just a few minutes you’ve created a spacious, weather-sheltered entrance area.
Cooler tent interior
By adding a second roof layer, Spirit creates an air gap between canopy and tent. This buffer can noticeably reduce the temperature inside on hot summer days – ideal for more comfortable sleeping and for escaping the midday heat.
Weatherproof
If the weather turns, Spirit keeps your camping set-up usable. The PU-coated fabric with a 3,000 mm hydrostatic head and sealed seams offers reliable protection from showers and persistent rain, so your porch area stays drier and more inviting.
Stable telescopic poles
Reinforced metal eyelets with webbing loops at each corner and in the centre of the front and rear edges give you plenty of pitching options with the two telescopic poles. You can adjust height and angle to suit your tent, and add extra poles from the skandika shop for even more configurations.
Reflective guy lines
Eight guy lines with high-quality aluminium tensioners allow flexible positioning and secure anchoring of the large canopy. The reflective lines are easy to pick out in torch or headlamp light, helping to reduce trip hazards around the tent at night.
Strong UV protection
In strong sunshine, the UV protection factor of 50+ really comes into play. The special fabric treatment helps prevent the material from becoming brittle or cracked over time and adds an extra layer of shade for you and your tent – a key factor in long-term durability.
Stable & robust
The high-quality, robust fabric with reinforced seams and eyelets ensures excellent stability, even when it’s breezy. The dirt-repellent surface can be quickly wiped clean with a damp cloth, and a sturdy carry bag is included for easy transport and storage.

This version of the Spirit sun canopy offers a generous size of 740 × 310 cm. Other sizes (330 × 310 cm and 390 × 400 cm) and matching skandika tent models are available separately in the skandika shop.
