The Pitea SUV Protect car tent is a tailgate awning for many popular SUVs, CUVs and estate cars*. With the practical connecting tunnel, it fits directly to the open tailgate and turns the back of your vehicle into a sheltered living area. In just a few minutes, your car becomes a comfortable, practical camping base. The Pitea SUV Protect can also stand on its own and be used as a fully functional tent.
- Suitable for tailgates (open) up to approx. 210 cm in height, 130 cm in width, 100 cm in length/depth, and boot sills with a height of approx. 60–80 cm.
- Not suitable for side-opening or steeply sloping tailgates (fastback).
Recycled polyester
The outer tent fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester. This reduces waste and saves raw materials, so you can enjoy your trips with a bit more care for the world around you.
PFAS-free
The outer tent and the rain cover come with a PFAS-free coating. It is safe to use, hard-wearing and still offers strong weather protection without any trade-offs.
Freestanding and flexible
The awning is designed to stand on its own. Just unhook the tunnel from the car and head off on a drive. What stays behind is a proper tent with a closable entrance that remains secure and stable, even without the vehicle.
Easy set-up, no tools needed
The guy lines attach to the vehicle quickly and easily – no tools, no special fittings. Set-up is straightforward, so the tent is ready to go after only a short time on site.
Fully sewn-in groundsheet
The firmly sewn-in groundsheet made from robust PE fabric keeps out damp, dirt and crawling insects. Together with the mosquito mesh, it creates a well-protected, comfortable living and sleeping area.
Room for four people
The car tent offers generous space for four people, or for a queen-size airbed for two campers who like extra comfort and freedom to move. Being directly connected to the car also cuts down on carrying gear back and forth.
Panorama windows with blinds
Two large mesh windows let in plenty of daylight and fresh air. Internal blinds give you privacy and help darken the space when needed. Mosquito mesh on the door and tunnel entrance keeps insects on the outside.
Additional outer tent included
When the weather turns wet, simply pull the extra rain cover over the tent to shield the large mesh windows from rain. This smart combination lets you react easily to changing conditions while keeping the inside cosy.
Fully waterproof
With a 5,000 mm hydrostatic head and carefully sealed seams on the rain cover, the Pitea SUV Protect stays reliably dry even in heavy rain. The sturdy fibreglass pole system also copes well with stronger winds.
UV protection UPF 50+
The tent fabric has a UPF 50+ rating, helping to protect it from damage caused by strong sunlight. This improves durability, slows down heat build-up and supports a pleasant climate inside the tent.
Practical extras included
A hook for a camping lamp, organiser pockets for small items and a weather-protected cable entry point all make camping life easier and help keep everything tidy.
