The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Down Vest pays homage to the iconic '90s design and its legendary features. The name "Nuptse" was inspired by the impressive summit of Mount Everest, reflecting the jacket's unparalleled performance in extreme conditions. The 1996 Retro Nuptse Down Vest is a modern reincarnation of an icon. Most of the features remain unchanged: the same boxy fit, the same shiny ripstop fabric, the same exposed zipper and slanted side pockets, and, of course, the same large compartments. However, we've made a few improvements, like using responsibly sourced 700-fill down and a water-repellent finish. The hood can be rolled into the collar, and the entire vest packs away into its own right pocket. Recycled materials make it even better for the Surroundings.
