First placement after purchase
The airbag you have just purchased IS NOT ACTIVATED and requires a significant movement on your part to make it operational.
You need to "arm" the airbag on the same principle as changing the cartridge and attaching the leash.
You'll find everything you need to help you at the bottom of this page, under "Site Support (FAQ, user guide...)"
Explanations are laid out in the user guide and explanatory video below.
How to change your cartridge
You can find all the detailed explanations in the manual, via the QR code on the manual, and you can find a video of the product images on the Internet.
Choosing your size
Refer to the table in the product images.
Consider the following 2 measurements: chest circumference, and back length (also see the user guide). If you find your measurements corresponding to two different sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size indicated for your product.
For example: if your chest circumference is a size M, and your back length is a size L, we recommend choosing a size L
Standards and trigger speed
CERTIFICATION CE -
This protection is in compliance with EU regulation 2016/425 and the NF S72-800 standard for Protective Clothing for Equestrian Activities - Jackets and Body Protectors for Horse Riders, with Inflatable Cushions. Certified by ALIENOR Certification ZA du Santal 21 rue Albert Einstein 86100 Châtellerault - France (2754)
The average trigger speed is 217 milliseconds for size L.
Adjustment:
The Airbag should always be worn over the rest of your riding equipment. Wearing clothing on top may prevent the airbag from opening and slow the inflation time, and you risk being overcompressed by the inflated body protector during a fall. An airbag protector should not be worn cinched.
Use and operation of the airbag
The airbag attaches to the saddle at the stirrup knives using the "saddle strap", which connects to the airbag using a leash with a snap hook ("connection strap").
In the case of a fall or a sudden significant tension on the leash, the leash will detach from the body protector, causing it to inflate. All you need to "re-arm" it is to replace the cartridge with a new one and re-attach the system.
All explanations are available in the user guide.
Using compatible cartridges and accessories for body protectors:
The airbag protector is sold with a gas cartridge that should be replaced after each inflation.
The cartridge for adult airbags must be 85cc/60g (ref: 5157952)
The use of any other brand of cartridge voids all manufacturer's warranties and responsibilities. The same applies to the accessories needed for the body protector to work properly (saddle strap and leash with carabiner (known as the "connection strap")). All parts are available from after-sales on our website.
Transport:
Please note: an air bag body protector should not be folded or exposed to great heat (such as the back shelf of a car)
This protection is in compliance with EU regulation 2016/425 and the NF S72-800 standard for Protective Clothing for Equestrian Activities - Jackets and Body Protectors for Horse Riders, with Inflatable Cushions. Competition regulations:
In the EEC, the Airbag body protector can only be worn in competitions when paired with a body protector that meets current standards, currently BETA level 3, CE EN 13158:2009.
