What is this type of accessory for? (part 1 of 2)
In the day-to-day life of a target shooter, this type of combination lock is handy: no keys to manage, and quick to open and close. It can be used for:
1/Locking carry cases and slips: this is the most common usage. The shooter uses the padlock to secure the zips on a soft slip or the latches on a hard case containing their gun.
2/Securing ammunition tins: these must be stored separately from the gun in a locked container.

3/Locking lockers: many shooting ranges provide lockers for shooters to store personal belongings, equipment, or even guns temporarily. In this case, you will need your own padlock.
4/Ensuring legal compliance: in France, the law requires guns to be transported in a way that ensures they are not “immediately usable”.
How do I reset the combination?
By default, the code for this 4-digit padlock is 0000. To change it, you must:
1/Open the shackle and position it at 90° to the closed position
2/Press and hold the shackle down
3/While depressed, the combination can be reset
4/Once released, the new combination is set
It is strongly advised to note down the combination, as there is only one recourse if forgotten: try every possible combination.
