SURFERS and FLIP-FLOPS
Flip-flops are the iconic surfer footwear. As well as being the symbol of a sunny surfing lifestyle, they are also the perfect footwear for before and after a session: simple, practical, easy care and above all easy to put on and take off, even with wet feet, without having to use your hands when they are already occupied with your equipment.
DESIGN
At OLAIAN, we design our flip-flops taking inspiration from the needs and requirements of surfers, so that they can suit the vast majority. Product designed by our surfer teams in Hendaye (France). The Olaian global design centre is located on the banks of the River Bidassoa in Hendaye. This allows us to design products in contact with users and in the marine environment.
USE EXAMPLES
We have designed these flip-flops for frequent use, for surfers walking to difficult-to-access surfing spots: long distances or wearing for long periods of the day (<8 km a day), rough terrain, steps, varied surfaces, or rocky/stony ground.

Tips for storage and maintenance
DRYING IN A TUMBLE DRYER POSSIBLE. NORMAL TEMPERATURE, MAXIMUM EXHAUST AIR TEMPERATURE OF THE DRUM 80°C.
MAXIMUM WASH TEMPERATURE OF 30°C. VERY MODERATE TREATMENT.
IRON AT A MAXIMUM SOLEPLATE TEMPERATURE OF 150°C.
MAXIMUM WASH TEMPERATURE 70°C. NORMAL TREATMENT.
IRONING AT A MAXIMUM IRON SOLEPLATE TEMPERATURE OF 200°C.

With ecodesign, we reduce the environmental impact of our products.
Analysing the product's environmental footprint enabled us to identify the most impactful stages of its life cycle. Thanks to this approach, our design teams were able to develop this product while significantly reducing its environmental impact.

Using recycled polyester rather than conventional polyester reduces the CO2 emissions linked to the material by at least 16%.

Product made from 3% dope dyed yarn
Using this mass-dyeing process enables us to reduce CO2 emissions linked to the production of dyed textiles by at least 46% compared to conventional dyeing.
