    How waterproof is it?

    This jacket is perfect in case of brief showers while you are hiking. It keeps you dry when the skies suddenly open up, thanks to its 5,000 Schmerber waterproof fabric and the assembly of the various parts, which are stitched and then sealed. Tested in our "Decathlon shower", it can withstand 6 mm of rain over one hour.

    What are Schmerbers?

    Schmerbers is a measure of waterproofing capacity: the higher the rating, the better the protection. At 5,000 mm, it can withstand the pressure exerted by a 5 m water column! The result? You stay dry in moderate rain of 60/m²/hr for an hour.

    This jacket's comfort features

    For your comfort, we have provided 2 zipped pockets on the sides of the jacket, and another on the chest. Ideal for carrying your mobile! We have also added a two-way zip to offer greater freedom of movement when sitting or crouching.

    The jacket adapts to your body shape!

    The cut of this jacket is very feminine. To adapt it to all body types, we have added a drawcord to adjust the waist. You can also tighten the back of the hood as you wish. The cuffs can be unfolded to lengthen the sleeves.

    How can I maintain the waterproofing?

    To restore its water-repellency, follow one of these three pieces of advice: 15 minutes in the tumble dryer on a synthetic programme, 2 blasts with a hairdryer from 20 cm away, or iron on a delicates setting without steam. Reactivate every 3 washes or after 10 uses in the rain.

    Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc.) and outdoor sports enthusiasts, to test our products on natural terrain. Our range of waterproof jackets and over trousers also undergoes a shower test in our climatic chamber at our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory near Lille.

    This jacket was tested and approved in May 2024 by a group of testers on a rainy day’s hike by Lake Annecy, Haute-Savoie. In order to meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the wild in the conditions you encounter during your hikes. Our teams, as well as a tester panel (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers) test products throughout their development until they go to market.
