Developed and validated by ocean racers.
This jacket has been developed and tested with sailors during a transatlantic race and single-handed offshore races on the Figaro 3, in particular with Léo Bothorel and Quentin Vlamynck, and with other racers on various regatta boats.
The water resistance level
The fabric is constructed with a 3-layer membrane, resistant to a water pressure of 20,000 mm Schmerber (JIS standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is.
The product was tested under a heavy rain simulator for 3 hours, the equivalent of a thunderstorm, i.e. 30 cm of rain in 3 hours.
Jacket waterproofing
- Rip-tab fastenings at the bottom of the sleeves limit water ingress.
- The seams are 100% watertight.
- A rigid visor is integrated into the hood for added protection.
- Water-repellent zip with inner gutter to prevent water from getting through the central opening
Small holes at the bottom of the pockets allow water to drain away if water from a wave enters the pockets.
Breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET, (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). It is its ability to allow the water vapour produced by the body during exercise to escape to the outside, thus preventing water from accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric.
The RET of this product is 8 which classifies it as a breathable product.
Pockets
The jacket has 3 pockets:
- 2 hand pockets with water-repellent zips
- 1 chest pocket with water-repellent zips for easy access to life vest

All these pockets can be accessed by wearing your life vest.
The pockets are unlined to keep the jacket lightweight.
Hood adjustment
The hood has two adjustment points: one on each side of the hood to adjust it to your face and the other at the back of your head to adjust the depth and height of the hood. The visor protects the face from water droplets and is windproof.
How to choose the size of your jacket
The cut of the product is regular. It is designed to be worn with thermal or breathable under-layers and a thin fleece underneath.
If you want to dress warmer underneath and with thicker products, we advise you to try the product or buy a larger size than you are used to.
How to wash your jacket
After use, rinse the jacket thoroughly with clean water to remove any salt. Machine wash about once a year to prevent the rip-tabs from damaging the fabric during washing.
Dry in a well-ventilated place. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator.
