Quiksilver is an Australian company founded in 1969 by two surfers: Alan Green and John Law. Specialising in surf sports, it is now developing ranges of technical equipment and textile products. The European headquarters are located in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Basque Country in South-West France.

How to choose your UV protection t-shirt
UV protection t-shirt is UPF 50.
The UPF standard (which stands for UV Protection Factor) helps to determine the amount of UV rays blocked by an item of clothing:
The choice is therefore made on sleeve length, then depends on the type of UPF. When between 0 and 15, the item of clothing is not considered UV protection. UPF between 15 and 24 filters between 93.3% and 95.9% of UV.
UPF between 25 and 39 filters between 96% and 97.4% of rays. UPF between 40 and 50 is 97.5% to 98% effective.
UV protection even when wet.
This anti-UV product’s fabric is effective against between 97% to 98% of UVs. It can be used both in and out of the water, for water or nautical sports. The density of the textile fibres filters out UV rays, for long-lasting protection, even after washing. Caution: the elastane contained in the fibres may deteriorate in chlorinated water.
Multi water sports UV protection t-shirt

It is compatible with other water sports such as swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, sea wading or SUP (stand-up paddleboarding).
Behaviour when in the sun
Although this t-shirt provides protection from the sun, phenomena such as reflections (from the water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, etc., must be taken into account. Wearing this t-shirt does not exempt the wearer from adopting suitable behaviour: wear sunglasses, wear a hat or cap, regularly apply an appropriate sun cream, drink regularly, etc.
