Dy'on X-fit Hoofdstel D-collection Bruin -

Product Description

The Dy'on X-Fit is a snaffle bridle from the D-Collection, built from vegetable-tanned English leather. The padded headpiece is cut back around the base of the ears and the noseband continues into the cheekpieces. It is meant for riders looking for a bridle that follows the shape of the head and is cleanly finished. Reins are not included.

About this bridle

A classic bridle consists of separate straps that each find their own way across the head. The X-Fit is built differently: the noseband and cheekpieces are integrated into one continuous strap. That saves parts and connections, and it makes the bridle sit more quietly on the head.

The headpiece is anatomically shaped and softly padded. It is cut so that the base of the ears stays clear. A wider, padded headpiece carries the weight of the bridle across a larger surface instead of on a narrow strip behind the ears. You notice that difference particularly on horses that react sensitively when you put the bridle on or take it off.

The cut at the level of the noseband and cheekpieces keeps the temples and cheekbones free. The noseband itself is ergonomically shaped and follows the line of the nasal bone, so it lies flat instead of bearing on one point. Which noseband type Dy'on uses here is not stated in the product information.

The browband is V-shaped and made of soft leather, with the New Steel Dy'on logo on the left-hand side. The buckles are stainless steel.

The leather is English leather, vegetable-tanned in Igualada in Spain. Vegetable-tanned leather feels firmer at first and breaks in more slowly than other tannages. In return it takes on the shape of the head over time and develops a fine patina, provided you feed it regularly.
