Product Description
The Kentucky Stud Girth is a long girth for your jumping saddle with a wide protective plate under the belly. You use it for jumping, when your horse tucks its front legs up high and shoes or studs can reach the belly. The synthetic leather does not absorb sweat, water or dirt, and with 3 D-rings and a buckle for a breastplate you can attach your schooling equipment too.
About this stud girth
A stud girth is a jumping girth with a widened centre section. On this Kentucky girth, that is a wide protective plate that sits under the belly, between the front legs and the belly. Kentucky designed the girth for comfort and safety when jumping, and to limit the risk of shoes or studs catching your horse. The girth is anatomically shaped, giving the shoulders and elbows more room.
On the inside there is a protective EVA layer, a light and springy foam. This version has no soft lining or removable cover. There is elastic at both ends, so you can do the girth up evenly on the left and the right.
According to Kentucky, the synthetic leather does not absorb dirt, sweat or water and does not discolour. After a wet or sandy session, a clean with Tack Cleaner is all it needs. The 3 D-rings take draw reins, and the separate buckle lets you attach a breastplate directly to the girth.
Within the Kentucky range at Maddelin, this is the plain version of the stud girth: no cover and no central hook. The same base with a removable artificial sheepskin cover is available as the Kentucky Sheepskin stud girth.
