Product Description
The Kentucky Sheepskin Anatomic Girth is an anatomically shaped long girth in synthetic leather, with an EVA inner layer and a removable layer of artificial sheepskin. It is made for saddles with short girth straps, such as jumping saddles. The shape leaves room for the shoulders and elbows, and thanks to the hook and loop you wash the sheepskin separately while the girth itself stays dry.
About this girth
Kentucky calls this model the Sheepskin Anatomic Girth; the Dutch name uses "Wol" (wool), which refers to the look of the lining. It is artificial sheepskin, not real wool. The girth itself is synthetic leather which, according to Kentucky, does not absorb dirt, sweat or water and does not discolour. It contains no animal materials.
The anatomical shape is at the heart of this girth. Around the shoulders and elbows it is shaped to leave more room. Inside is a protective EVA layer, a flexible synthetic foam.
There is elastic at both ends, so you can tighten evenly on both sides. The girth also has 3 D-rings and a buckle for attaching a breastplate.
The sheepskin is held on with strong hook and loop. You take it off to wash it at 30 °C, while you care for the synthetic leather with Tack Cleaner. Kentucky also makes a separate replacement cover for this model. The same girth without sheepskin is the Kentucky Anatomic Girth; note that, according to Kentucky, it is not compatible with this sheepskin cover.
