What does the patented Visor+ technology involve?
Visor+ helmets feature a system that allows you to wear a visor or remove it to wear a mask. The visor (compliant with ISO 18527-1) is interchangeable and can be adjusted to suit the weather. When removed, two caps allow you to cover the notches on the helmet without compromising the design.
How does MIPS® technology work to reduce the risk of brain injury?
MIPS® technology is the yellow layer inside the helmet. It features what is known as a low-friction layer, allowing for multi-directional movement of 10 to 15 mm during certain oblique impacts, with the aim of reducing the rotational force transmitted to the head and brain in the event of a fall.
Is the Visor+ system repairable?
If broken, our Visor+ system can be repaired. It is sold separately so you can refit it at home. If you have any questions, please visit your nearest store.
Hybrid, ABS & In-Mold construction to combine durability and lightness.
In-Mold technology moulds directly to the outer shell of the EPS shell, which protects against impact. The ABS part, a rigid shell, is slightly heavier and will be applied to the top of the head to increase protection against penetration (branches, pebbles, etc.).
How to choose the right size and trying on your helmet
Measure the circumference of your head (from the middle of your forehead to the top of your ears) and choose the right size. When trying on the helmet, you should not feel any discomfort. If the helmet does not have a visor, try it on with a pair of goggles: There should be no gaps between the two.
How do you adjust your helmet once you have the right size?
For your safety, your ski helmet must be properly adjusted:
- The head circumference must be adjusted using the tightening dial.
- The chin strap must be correctly adjusted. You should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your skin. If the helmet is poorly fitted, it will provide less protection.
When to change your ski helmet?
We recommend changing your ski helmet every 5 years, unless it has sustained a significant impact in the meantime. In case of severe impact, you need to change the helmet: even if you can’t see it, the inner material may be damaged and your helmet will offer less protection.
Is it advisable to wear a liner under my helmet in cold weather?
Avoid wearing a hat, as this will create a gap between your head and your helmet and reduce your protection. If necessary, opt for a very thin balaclava designed for this purpose.
Avoid putting a camera on the helmet, as this will compromise your safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.
What does the European Standard EN 1077:2007, which applies to helmets used for downhill skiing or snowboarding, entail?
It is characterised by its shock absorption capacity and penetration resistance. There are two categories of protection:
- Class A: the top and back of the head, as well as the ears and sides of the head.
- Class B: the top and back of the head, but not the ears.
